On 26 December, a meeting was held in Astana between President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev and Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) Ramil Hasan.
During the meeting, President of the Turkic Academy briefed the Secretary General of TURKPA on the Academy’s activities and its key research areas. As part of the visit, Ramil Hasan was introduced to the Turkic Academy’s museum exhibition and to recent scholarly publications prepared with the participation of researchers from Turkic countries.
Mustafayev congratulated Hasan on his appointment as Secretary General of TURKPA and wished him success in his future work. He highlighted the importance of parliamentary cooperation within the framework of Turkic cooperation and emphasized the need for closer coordination between academic and interparliamentary institutions of the Turkic world.
In turn, Hasan outlined the activities of TURKPA, its priority areas of work, and current initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among the parliaments of Turkic states.
The parties exchanged views on prospects for further cooperation between the Turkic Academy and TURKPA.
