Vice President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev took part in the official opening ceremony of the first “Tugrul-Kush” statue in Anatolia, installed on the grounds of the Embassy of Hungary with an outlook onto Atatürk Boulevard.
The ceremony was also joined by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Ambassador of Hungary Viktor Mátis, Hungary’s member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Attila Tilki, Deputy Chair of the AK Party responsible for relations with Turkic states and Member of Parliament Selman Oğuzhan Eserr, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions.
In his address, Ambassador Viktor Mátis noted that the creation of the statue became possible with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Hungary. According to him, the “Tugrul-Kush” symbolizes solidarity and unity, reflecting shared Turkic roots and historical heritage.
The ceremony concluded with the official unveiling of the statue by Hungarian sculptor István Beite Horváth. The monument stands as a vivid symbol of cultural dialogue between Türkiye and Hungary, as well as the strengthening of ties within the Turkic world.
