As part of his working visit to the Kyzylorda region, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev met with Beibitkul Karimova, Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the outcomes of the joint archaeological project, launched in 2023 under a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Academy and the University, at the site of the ancient city of Jankent. The project aims to study, preserve and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.
In the course of the conversation, President of the Academy and the Rector of the University emphasized that the archaeological research has significantly enriched academic understanding of the cities along the lower Syr Darya and the culture of the Oghuz Turks. They also noted its contribution to raising public interest in historical monuments and strengthening academic cooperation in the region.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued scientific collaboration and the implementation of new joint initiatives.
As a symbol of strengthening partnership, the President of the Turkic Academy presented a set of academic publications—published by the Academy itself—as a gift to the university library.
