On June 12, 2025, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting at the Akorda with the speakers of the parliaments of the member states of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TurkPA), who arrived in Astana to participate in the parliamentary forum titled "TURKTIME: The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy".
During his address, the Head of State emphasized the importance of interparliamentary cooperation in strengthening Turkic solidarity and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's full support for TurkPA’s integration initiatives. He paid particular attention to humanitarian collaboration, calling the adoption of the Common Turkic Alphabet a historic achievement. This initiative was carried out under the auspices of the Turkic Academy in coordination with the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States.
It should be recalled that from September 9 to 11, 2024, the third meeting of the Commission on the Common Turkic Alphabet was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. During the event, representatives of the scientific community and relevant state institutions finalized the Latin-based alphabet project, which consists of 34 letters reflecting the phonetic diversity of the Turkic languages.
