The II Forum of Turkic World Culture took place from April 26 to 27 in Khiva, Uzbekistan, as part of the IV International Bakhshi Art Festival.
The opening ceremony of the forum gathered prominent figures from the fields of culture and science, including Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Secretary-General of TÜRKSOY Sultan Raev, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raiymkulova and Secretary-General of TÜRKPA Mehmet Süreyya Er.
The primary goal of the Forum was the scientific reflection on the Bakhshi art, which symbolizes the national identity and ancient culture of the Turkic peoples.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the importance of holding the forum in Khorezm, a historic center that serves as a model for preserving cultural heritage for the entire Turkic world. He expressed confidence in the need for the active promotion of Turkic heritage in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the development of cultural routes that would foster stronger cooperation between Turkic states. Mustafayev also emphasized that the Turkic Academy is ready to support initiatives aimed at studying the languages, history, and culture of Turkic peoples.
During the international forum, participants presented their research on Bakhshi art as an essential element of the national identity of Turkic peoples and discussed relevant issues such as the digitalization of cultural heritage and cultural interaction in the context of globalization. Workshops were held and cooperation agreements were signed between universities and international organizations.
The II Forum of Turkic World Culture became the central event of the IV International Bakhshi Art Festival, which brought together more than 200 participants from over 40 countries.
