Today, the outstanding literary scholar, folklorist, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Seyit Kaskabasov passed away.
Seyit Kaskabasov made a significant contribution to the development of folklore studies of the Kazakh and other Turkic peoples, as well as to the systematization of samples of oral literature and epic heritage. His works, which contributed to the restoration and scholarly interpretation of the legacy of the Alash thinkers, have become an important part of the common Turkic cultural heritage.
