6th Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations Held in Istanbul

Today, January 30, the 6th Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations took place in Istanbul.

The meeting was attended by Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKPA Ramil Hasan, President of the Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage Aktoty Rayymkulova, Secretary General of the Turkic Countries Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) Adem Kula, as well as Advisor to the President of the Turkic Countries Investment Fund, Erhan Türbedar.

At the meeting, the work carried out by the Turkic cooperation organizations in 2025 was reviewed, and the results of the past year were discussed. Special attention was also given to the implementation of decisions and directives adopted by the Heads of State at the 12th Summit.

The meeting also included discussions on the organization of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, as well as consideration and adoption of the Action Plan of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations for 2026.

In his address, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev informed participants about the key achievements of the Academy in 2025. He noted that during the reporting period, the Academy implemented and continued more than 40 joint research projects in the fields of history, linguistics, literature, economics, and sustainable development, and published a number of significant scholarly works.

The President of the Academy also highlighted the archaeological and interdisciplinary research conducted by the Turkic Academy, including ongoing excavations in the Nomgon Valley in Mongolia and at the medieval city of Jankent in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the significance of these sites in the history of the Great Steppe and along the Silk Road.

Furthermore, President Mustafayev emphasized the preparation of activities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, outlining a number of proposals in this regard.
