Delegation of International Observers from TURKPA Visited the Turkic Academy

Today, March 16, a delegation of international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), who were monitoring the constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan, visited the International Turkic Academy.

The delegation included Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Malahat Ibrahimgizi, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Osman Mesten, Secretary of the delegation and representative of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Kürşat Melih Sarıarslan, Member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan Naila Asgarova, as well as Secretary of the TURKPA Commission Aynura Abutalibova.

During the visit, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev introduced the guests to the Academy’s museum exhibition, which features examples of the cultural heritage of Turkic peoples. The delegation was also presented with the Academy’s latest scientific publications.

During the meeting, Mustafayev spoke about the key areas of the Academy’s activities, its ongoing scientific projects, and international initiatives. The parties discussed the development of scientific and cultural-humanitarian cooperation within the Turkic world.

It was also noted that the constitutional referendum held in the Republic of Kazakhstan is important not only for the country itself but for the entire Turkic world, as strengthening democratic institutions contributes to the expansion of regional cooperation.

The members of the delegation highly appreciated the activities of the Turkic Academy, emphasizing its significant role in the study of the history, language, and culture of Turkic peoples, and expressed their interest in further developing cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Academy presented the guests with the Academy’s scientific publications as a sign of academic cooperation.
